As you guys know, I think that a favorite place to experiment with creativity is on the table. Indeed, tablescapes are one of the fastest and easiest of ways to make tired spaces feel special, even if it is just a regular weeknight dinner with the family! Since I’m not a fan of matchy-matchy, I love mixing old and new from my cupboards. Additionally, tablescapes are the perfect place to use our high/low design philosophy. So, when our friends at Tabula Tua offered to send some beautiful pieces from Arte Italica I was over the moon!
Like us, Tabula Tua encourages their clients to get creative in the dining room. Our friends sent this gorgeous dinner plate and soup bowl (above) from Arte Italica. Because Arte Italica is both elegant and practical, this tablescape works in a variety of settings. Combined with Laguiole flatware, Juliska stemware and placemat, Mariposa tray, a John Derian compote and antique creamware is perfectly on trend.
Chicago showroom and online!
Undoubtedly a longtime favorite of Chicago tastemakers and brides, Tabula Tua offers gorgeous dinnerware from around the globe. Their collection includes products from our favorite lines. In addition to Arte Italica, they offer Juliska, Michael Aram, Astier De Villatte, Kim Seybert, Mariposa, and Vietri. Also, they carry a fabulous assortment of geography pillows and dish towels from fellow Southern C alums, Catstudio. In addition to their gorgeous website, Tabula Tua has a beautiful showroom in Lincoln Park at 1015 West Armitage Avenue.
Tabula Tua is known for their ability to bring out each individual’s distinct personality. Because they encourage mixing and matching of textures, colors, and patterns, their clients are able to create their own unique style of entertaining. In addition to tableware, Tabula Tua carries a wide selection of carefully selected home furnishings. Their curated collection includes furniture and rugs, lamps, chandeliers and other home accents.
Because Mother’s Day is coming up, I’ve rounded up a few items (above) from Tabula Tua that I have my eye on. If gifting is on your to-do list (isn’t it always!) or if you just want to add a few pieces to your own cupboards, take a peek at Tabula Tua. You will love their collection! Finally, here is a tabletop roundup from our archives. Enjoy!
